RYA Advanced Powerboat Instructor Course
The RYA Advanced Powerboat instructor course is a training course that will prepare you to teach the RYA Powerboat Intermediate, Tender Operator and RYA Advanced Powerboat courses. It also is the requirement that the RYA places on PBIs to be able to teach 'own boat training' away from the centre's operating base.
Minimum age: 17
Pre-requisites:
- RYA Powerboat Instructor
- RYA Advanced Powerboat certificate
- First Aid certificate (valid and recognised by RYA see here)
- RYA/MCA Commercial Endorsement: Advanced Powerboat Commercial Endorsement, RYA Yachtmaster Coastal (Power) or RYA Yachtmaster Offshore (Power) - Advanced instructors who DO NOT hold this will only be able to teach the Intermediate course.
- Knowledge to the level of RYA Coastal Skippper/ Yachtmaster Offshore Theory, basic background knowledge of Radar.
- ENG1 / ML5
- RYA Membership
Duration: 2 days + 1 evening
Fees include:
- Use of a RIB incl. fuel
- RYA Advanced level Powerboat Instructor Trainer for 2 days + evening
- Use of lifejacket & light wet weather gear (if required)
