RYA Jet Ski (PWC) Proficiency Course


Whether it will be your first time on a jet ski or you're already an experienced rider the RYA Jetski (PWC) proficiency course is for you! It is the perfect environment to learn new skills or brush up your current techniques. This course covers a wide range of skills and knowledge required to be 'safe afloat' whether that is on a lake or on the sea. Increasingly the RYA certificate is required for launching, but is also the basis of the International Certificate of Competence if you want to use a jetski abroad, this certificate is often referred to as the RYA jetski licence or RYA PWC licence. It is also the pre-requisite to completing the RYA Jetski (PWC) Instructor Course

Pre-Requisites:

Minimum Age: 12 with accompanying adult on board the craft

Prior Experience/knowledge: None

Duration:

1 day (Approx 09:00 - 17:00)

  • Launching & recovery
  • Low & higher speed handling
  • Planing Speed Cornering techniques
  • Man overboard recovery
  • Coming alongside / marina handling
  • Towing & emergency situations
  • Basic navigation & passage planning
  • Road rules (IRPCS) & byelaws
  • Weather & Tides
  • Aftercare & maintenance

RYA PWC Proficiency course fees:

Maximum 2 people per PWC (jetski)

  • 1 x person = £350.00 (shared PWC)
  • 2 x people = £580.00 per person (shared PWC)

*Maximum course participants generally x 4 , on request x 6 people can attend. 



Planning on using a jetski (PWC) in Europe?

International Certificate of Competence (I.C.C.)

If you are planning on hiring a PWC or taking your own PWC to Europe then once you have completed your RYA PWC Proficiency Course you can apply for an RYA I.C.C. which is the certificate required by local authorities in most European Countries.
