An entry level course that is a minimum requirement for every crew member and deckhand that is involved with tender operations. Providing the skills and knowledge to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence (I.C.C.) and MCA commercial endorsement.
Course Content:
Preparing a tender for use
Personal & vessel safety equipment
Low speed boating handling
Securing to a buoy
Man overboard recovery
Anchoring
Close quarters handling - marina work, leaving and coming alongside, turning in a confined space
Handling a vessel at planing speed
Theory: IRPCS, Weather, Tides, Charts, Buoyage, Basic navigation/Pilotage, Use of a chart plotter
Attendance Requirements
Maximum 1 instructor: 3 crew per tender / powerboat
Kit Requirements
Tender / rescue boat with relevant safety equipment
Chart of local area & plotting equipment
Crew Pre-requisites
Passport photo
Lifejacket or buoyancy aid
Appropriate clothing, footwear and sundries
Vessel Requirements
Adequate insurance
With over 20 years in the powerboat industry and over 10 years running training courses onboard Superyachts around the world; our instructors are some of the best; they not only hold their RYA Advanced powerboat instructor certificate, MCA Advanced Powerboat commercial endorsement but they are also RYA Powerboat instructor trainers, which basically means they couldn't be more qualified for the job!
Whether your tender is 5m or 15m, regardless of engine type or how many engines; fly by wire, joystick or traditional throttle systems we pretty much have had experience across the whole spectrum!
